Canon announces the G11…

My initial impression is that they have finally taken ‘photographers’ advice and not played a big Megapixel Game. They are boasting a new low noise 10MP sensor (10 is plenty) that can pretty well shoot in the dark at ISO12,500 something or other… The problem with the last two G cameras the G9 10MP, great camera good quality images up to 400ISO but very slow to focus and shoot, then the G10 (15MP, way too many for such a small sensor) fast as lighting but sporting way to much juicy under the hood for the size of his wheels, noisy images even at 100ISO… so now it seems that Canon have heard the critics and built what we hope will the the last compact camera to buy for a very long time… fingers crossed…

Now they just need to sort out the D500, its also very noisy… could there be a new 12MP D550?
